Around 6 weeks, it may be possible to visualize the gestational sac, yolk sac, fetal pole, and in some pregnancies, early cardiac activity. Every pregnancy develops differently, so what is visible depends on your dating and individual circumstances.

Is a 6 week ultrasound guaranteed to show a heartbeat?

No. Every pregnancy is unique. While cardiac activity may be visible around 6 weeks, it is not guaranteed. Factors such as ovulation timing, implantation, and gestational age can affect what is seen.

What should I expect during my appointment?

Your sonographer will arrive with professional ultrasound equipment, set up in your preferred room, perform your ultrasound, capture images, answer questions about the examination process, and ensure you feel comfortable throughout the visit.
